Police in Swartkops have arrested a 29 year-old female for the alleged murder of her 38 year-old boyfriend, following an argument.
According to police reports, it is alleged that the couple had an argument at 01:30 on Saturday, August 27 at a residence in Debe Street, Wells Estate.
It is alleged that the girlfriend took a knife and stabbed the man in the neck. He passed away on the scene and the girlfriend was arrested outside the residence,” police spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart said.
Swart added that the motive for the murder is yet to be established and police investigations are continuing. The name of the victim will be released once his next-of-kin has been informed.
The arrested suspect is expected to appear in the Motherwell Magistrate’s court on Monday, August 29, 2022 on a charge of murder.
