Kaizer Chiefs have secured the services of Rushwin Dortley from Cape Town Spurs!
The talented central-defender was a rare shining light for Spurs last season, making 28 appearances across all competitions.
Spurs took to social media to confirm Rushwin Dortley’s move to Kaizer Chiefs on Thursday afternoon.
Dortley is expected to be unveiled alongside Bongani Sam and Fiacre Ntwari as Kaizer Chiefs’ first three new signings.
The 22-year-old most recently captained Helman Mkhalele’s Bafana Bafana squad at the 2024 COSAFA Cup.

“The likes of SuperSport United and Stellenbosch FC made approaches to Spurs for the defender who captained the South Africa national team at the recent Cosafa Cup,” an Idiski Times report read regarding Kaizer Chiefs’ new signing.
In other news, Kaizer Chiefs rising star Aden McCarthy’s move to Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol has been called off.
The Amakhosi youngster jetted out to Europe for a trial at the club last month, however despite passing the trial, the deal has reportedly fallen through!
The son of Amakhosi legend Fabian McCarthy graduated to the first team last season after impressing for the club’s DStv Diski Challenge side.
Despite not making his official senior debut for the club, the 20-year-old defender was an unused substitute for Cavin Johnson’s side on four occasions last season.
Kaizer Chiefs call off European move for McCarthy?
According to inside information revealed by The Citizen, Aden McCarthy passed his trial at Sheriff Tiraspol and was due to join the club on loan from Kaizer Chiefs.
However, the Glamour Boys have reportedly pulled the plug on the transfer as they feel they’ll need McCarthy next season due to a growing injury crisis at the club.
“Chiefs have many injuries at the back especially in the left back position. They only have (Happy) Mashiane readily available right now. Edmilson (Dove) is injured and the new recruit Bongani Sam came carrying an injury,” a source told the publication.
“They also released (Sifiso) Hlanti so they’re thin at left back. The boy (Aden McCarthy) is a very talented defender and I’m not surprised that he passed his trial in Moldova. He’s young, he’ll get another chance to go overseas.”
