EC Celtics are closing the gap

ALTHOUGH Roaring Tigers are SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay Men’s Regional League log leaders, EC Celtics are closing the gap on the log.

As things stand, Celtics have collected 51 league points from 26 games, while the log leaders have 55 league points from 27 games. Celtics have won their double header, when they whacked relegation candidates Major Chiefs 5-0 at the VW Pavilion Stadium in Kariega on Saturday and they overcame the struggling Despatch Pioneers 1-0 at Khayamnandi Community Grounds on Sunday.

On the other side, Tigers managed to secure an away 2-0 win over Motherwell School of Excellence during their clash that took place at Motherwell NU 2 Stadium on Sunday.

If Tigers win their last three remaining games, they will be crowned as league champions.

Bay Tigers, who have collected 49 league points from 25 games, are on the third place on the log.

Bay Tigers secured an away 4-1 triumph over Highland Spurs at Jabavu Stadium in KwaNobuhle on Saturday.

If Bay Tigers could win all their last games with big scores, they would collect 64 league points, with a better goal average than Roaring Tigers. All in all, Bay Tigers would lift the league trophy.
